PI Gorlatova visited the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), where Duke I3T Ph.D. student Sarah Eom is spending six months as an ORISE Fellow. Eom is translating her dissertation research on intra-operative augmented reality (AR) into prototype platforms that will inform future regulations for AR-enabled medical devices. During the visit, PI Gorlatova delivered a CDRH Seminar Series lecture titled “Edge- and IoT-Supported Intelligent Augmented Reality: Promise, Challenges, and Solutions.”
